Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Recume (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and anyone who accesses Recume at recumeai.com or any associated subdomains. Recume is operated by MVR Systems LLC, 1115 Melrose Blvd, Manalapan, NJ 07726.

What Recume Is

Recume is an AI-powered car diagnostic tool. You upload a photo of a car part and receive an AI-based diagnosis, condition score, repair cost estimate, and access to a follow-up chat assistant. All outputs are informational only — see Section 09 for the full disclaimer.

Accounts

You must create an account to use most features. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or abuse the AI service.

Pricing Plans & Billing

  • Free ($0, 1 scan/month).
  • Monthly Pro ($4.99/month, unlimited scans + history + chat + PDF exports).
  • Yearly Pro ($35.88/year, same as monthly — ~40% savings).
  • Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds.
  • Failed payments may result in downgrade to the Free plan.
  • All payments processed by Stripe. Recume never sees or stores your card number.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload illegal / harmful / explicit content.
  • Use the Service for illegal purposes.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or exploit AI models or infrastructure.
  • Resell access without written authorization.
  • Upload images of people without consent.
  • Submit fraudulent information.
  • Circumvent rate limits or account restrictions.

User Content

You retain ownership of images you upload. You grant Recume a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely to provide the diagnostic service.

Raw uploaded images are not used for AI model training unless you explicitly opt in via a future in-app toggle.

Intellectual Property

All elements of the Recume platform — interface, AI outputs, branding, generated reports — are owned by Recume. No IP rights are transferred to you beyond the right to use the Service.

Third-Party Services

The Service uses Supabase (auth & database), Stripe (payments), Anthropic and Cloudflare Workers AI (AI inference), and Resend (email). These providers may process your data under their own privacy policies.

AI Disclaimer

INFORMATIONAL ONLY — NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. Recume's AI outputs are for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional mechanical advice, inspection reports, or recommendations from a licensed mechanic. Always consult a qualified automotive professional before making repair decisions. Recume is not liable for any damage or injury resulting from reliance on AI outputs.

Additionally:

  • Scores and estimates are based on visible image content only.
  • Recume cannot detect issues that are not visible in the uploaded image.
  • Repair estimates vary significantly by location, labor rates, and parts availability.
  • “Safe to drive” assessments are preliminary indicators only — not safety certifications.

Limitation of Liability

Recume disclaims all liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages including vehicle damage, repair costs, or injury from reliance on AI outputs.

Total liability capped at the amount paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Recume against claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, violations of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations. You may delete your account via the settings page.

Personal data removed within 30 days except where required by law.

Children

Not directed at children under 16. Contact support@recumeai.com if a minor's data has been submitted.

Changes to These Terms

Material changes communicated via email and in-app notice. Continued use after changes = acceptance.

Governing Law

Governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes resolved in U.S. courts.
